I’ve been following 2 shows that’s been on for about 3 months now on channel 18 in the LA area. This is the “Asian” channel where depending on time of day various asian programming is shown here. My folks catch the prime time during the week for their Chinese soap and I watch the Korean soaps from 9:50 – 11:00 slot. The first series is called Coffee Prince’s Flagship Store and second one, Time Between Dog and Wolf. Yes funny names but very entertaining series!
The Coffee Prince’s Flagship Store is your typical Korean romance / comedy movies. The story is about a girl trying to work her way up at a Cafe and ends up falling in love with her boss. But the twist was that she hides the fact that she’s a girl and continues to work as a boy. Funny moments when she is constantly avoiding getting caught. This would be something you would call, “cute”. Way too much cheese. It finally ended this week on Monday.
The second movie Time Between Dog and Wolf was a combination of action, thriller, and romance. Basically its your typical love triangle. Throw in a few mob bosses, manipulating government agents, and revenge and there you have the movie. The acting is superb and not cheesy at all. Very action packed. Kinda reminded me of The Departed. I highly recommend catching this. I found some videos here. This show should end by next week. I’ve already finished the series tonight on my own.
I have to say, I’ve been watching alot of Korean drama the past year or so. Very good stuff!
I spent 07/07/07 watching Transformers at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. Not only did the movie met my expectations, it completely blew me and my friends away. Great visual effects, the occassional reference to details from the 80′s cartoon series, and Megan Fox brought smiles across most of our faces. Ok maybe only for the guys. She was SMOKIN HOT!
I managed to get some pictures of the Autobots parked outside of the Arclight on my camera phone.
I also was able to capture all the Autobots on video. Listening to myself speak makes me sound like an idiot. Freakin amateur!
Ok I’m not going to make this an all-Transformers post. I forgot to post earlier last week to wish Samira a Happy Birthday! The rollerskate party and cake was good. Rollerskating after not doing it for awhile was pretty scary. I guess it just comes back to you when you pick yourself up and go!
This cult classic movie was on Spike TV today. I remember the first time watching this as a kid and was blown away by the sheer violence and a similar story to alot of the action video games that was made since the 80s. For those who haven’t seen this movie, the Warriors are framed for the killing of a gang leader with other gangs looking out to kill them as they travel through New York City to reach their turf in Coney Island. Even after 25 years, this movie is still great! I’m not the only who thinks this movie is worth a look. They’re remaking the movie, the video game was recently released, and even action figures are seen through-out the Internet. Go Warriors!
